Breaking News: LUC Confession Bear posts Confession

The Confession Bear, an LUC phenomenon, keeps people entertained by posting what is advertised as ‘confessions.’ While some students feed on this by happily jumping at the opportunity to argue passive aggressively with each other, some feel a profound disappointment when day after day they are faced with opinions and complaints, rather than the promised confessions.

Nothing could have prepared LUC for the surprise the Confession Bear had in store. Early Tuesday morning LUC Confession Bear posted a confession. You read that right. A confession. Here it is:

“I am madly in love with Freya Baetens!”

Initial reactions were of shock and confusion. Reportedly a third year, who spends days arguing on Confession Bear posts, fainted and almost choked on a bowl of cold instant noodles.

“I woke up at 12 and saw the post. I was so impacted I almost shared it on LUC Central. I mean Freya. You know, Freya...that one teacher person...” claimed a first year who clearly didn’t know who Freya is.

This change did not stop a furious discussion from breaking out in the comments, however, as groups of students flooded the site to extrude at lengths on their own personal opinions on the matter. Some students, long graduated, even went so far as to draw from their own volunteering experiences to back up their essay-length comments, now arguing for completely unrelated causes:

“Don’t tell me about maturity and what it means to live! When I first traveled to Sri-Lanka during my gap year, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I was spending hours every day, volunteering in orphanages all over the country, but I just didn’t see a goal, something I could aim for. With a focus on Global Challenges, things changed. Citizenship gave me direction, an aim. So go f*ck yourself with your western views!”

While many of us know and love the Confession Bear that posts anything but confessions, we hope that things return to normality soon, and that the Confession Bear gets back on its ball and starts posting actual posts again!

LUC News reporting.
