Here at LUC News, we are committed to bringing you the latest and most thrilling LUC news. So to those who did not go to the Auction of Promises last week: don’t you worry, we’ve got it covered! Here are 4 inspirational people telling us about their favourite moments:

The Dean

“The Auction of Promises proved to be extremely useful in helping me expand my artistic talents. As you all know, dancing is a passion of mine. Well, dancing is nothing without music which is why I am so excited about acquiring Adam and Anar’s karaoke night! Singing is something I have wanted to get better at for a long time, and now my moment has finally come!”

During this interview we managed to get his autograph with a date to prove we truly knew him before he was famous!

David Zetland

“It’s always great to see students fighting over you. First to have dinner at my house - I understand why this got so heated, I really am a brilliant chef AND I am buying the ingredients - and then to purchase that book I got for free. This is a great lesson in supply and demand by the way; there is only one version of the book which I have owned, hence student demand went through the roof.”

We asked him whether he was really going to give extra credit to essays which were handed in as bound books:

“I like to reward effort. If you go to the trouble of buying a book-binding workshop just to get higher grades, then you deserve those grades! Yes, of course merit matters. But remember; all good essays are equal but some are more equal than others.”

The student who bought the enormous box

“Do I regret this? No, of course I don’t! It’s an enormous box. You can do so much with it. Like, store things in it. Enormous things. Or an enormous number of small things. What more could you want?”

Many things crossed our mind, but we tactfully remained silent.

Femke van Moorsel

“My highlight? To be introduced by the Dean himself! What an honour! And the wine, the wine was also great!”

At this point we poured her another glass to thank her for her generous donation to the scholarship fund.

So there you have it. What were your Auction of Promises highlights? Let us know in the comments below!
