DUWO Baffled by Constant Shortage of Toilet Paper

The housing company DUWO has been confused by the seemingly never ending problem of toilet paper shortage at LUC.

A spokesperson for DUWO told LUC News: “Since taking over the Anna Van Buerenplein building fully from SEA Housing over Summer, DUWO has strived to provide the best living experience for its tenants. Part of this program is checking in to see what common problems are affecting students, but it seems that the number one problem is a toilet paper shortage, and we’re not really sure what we can do about that.”

SEA Housing worked with relevant bodies in 2015 in an attempt to resolve what at the time could only be described as a near-apocalyptic shortage of toilet paper, by getting a sponsorship from Lotus toilet paper, in a move covered by LUC News back in 2015. However, this deal fell through following an outcry by Sustainability students, citing that the paper was not sufficiently environmentally friendly.

Analysis seems to show that there is always a great need for toilet paper at the beginning of the year when people move in, as well very few people who can provide toilet paper to students in need. This does seem to decrease over the course of the year, as fellow students warn them to ‘keep spares’. DUWO has said they are pleased to see that fellow students are always so willing to not only warn students about having spare toilet paper, but also prepared to tag people who have toilet paper on facebook to go to help the student on their floor.

DUWO has admitted that there is very little they think they can actually do to alleviate the shortage, and that they hope the student body finds a way to resolve it soon.
